Northleach Court Residents Meet New Furry Friends

Residents at Northleach Court enjoyed meeting some furry friends last week when a variety of animals came to visit our home.

Our residents were given the opportunity to interact with both furry animals and scaly reptiles and enjoyed handling and learning about the different animals.

It has been proven that animal interaction can help to reduce stress levels, positively impact wellbeing and lower blood pressure. Animals can have an incredibly positive effect on symptoms of loneliness and depression in the elderly and can bring great comfort.

Animal therapy is a great way of encouraging social interaction while increasing physical activity and can be adapted and suited to all individual needs and requirements.

We regularly hold animal therapy workshops here at Northleach Court and our residents respond brilliantly to holding and stroking the animals.

We all loved meeting the animals and are looking forward to welcoming them back to Northleach Court very soon.
