Care Home Fees

When it comes to care home fees, Northleach Court aims to be as transparent and helpful as possible. We understand that paying for care isn’t easy, which is why we offer support and advice to residents, families, and relatives in whichever ways we can.

Local Authority staff work closely with us and our residents, making discussions around fees a little less daunting and easier to understand. We recognise that financial situations can change quickly and often without much warning. Northleach Court Private Care Home commits to doing everything we can to ensure that residents can remain with us in their home for the rest of their lives, avoiding disruption whenever we can.

Ways in which fees can be paid –

  1. Private payment provided by the resident or their family themselves
  2. Fees paid in full by the Local Authority

We are open and transparent in all matters including finances and we try as far as possible to make our fees cover all elements of the following:

Accommodation

Our accommodation fees includes:

  • All furniture (although residents can bring their own)
  • Bedding and towels
  • Heat, light and power
  • Cleaning of resident’s room and communal areas
  • Washing of clothes and bedding (excluding dry cleaning)
  • Maintenance of gardens and property
  • Contents

Care

Our care fees include:

  • All personal care
  • Administration of medications
  • All drinks and food including snacks – for example, if a resident would like wine with a meal, then this can be provided
  • Administration including the preparation, reviewing and updating of resident’s records including their care plan and liaison with healthcare and Social Services professionals
  • All ‘in-house’ activities including visiting entertainers

We try our best to include as much as possible within the accommodation and care fees, however, some items and services may be charged separately. Some of these items and services include:

  • Hairdressing, chiropody, optician, beauticians
  • Magazines/newspapers
  • Personal toiletries and items such as cigarettes etc
  • Clothes
  • Dry cleaning
  • Some external visits/trips
  • For privately funded residents, some specialist items of furniture or other specialist equipment (when possible we will get these on loan from a Local Authority)

All of our fees are calculated based on two factors; accommodation costs and the cost of care.

Accommodation costs will relate to the size of the room and the facilities included. Northleach Court offers a variety of rooms such as single rooms, rooms with ensuite bathrooms, large rooms or rooms for couples. All rooms are fully furnished and decorated to a high standard, and are personalisable with small pieces of furniture, photographs or ornaments.

The cost of care relates to the specific personal needs of the individual resident.

For example, if a resident is independent and mobile they would require less care than a resident who is bed bound or has very poor mobility. All fees can be discussed with our care home manager and are dependent on individual needs and requirements.

As mentioned above, fees are dependent on the choice of room and care needs so fees tend to vary for most residents. However, the following can be used as a basic guideline of our fees:

Residential examples:

  • Residential, single room with no en-suite from £900 per week
  • Residential dementia, single room with no en-suite from £995 per week
  • Residential dementia, single ‘premium’ room with en-suite from £1025 per week

Nursing examples:

  • Nursing care, single room with no en-suite from £1000 per week
  • Nursing dementia, single room with no en-suite from £1050 per week
  • Nursing dementia, single ‘premium’ room with en-suite from £1100 per week

Fees are charged on a monthly basis and paid in advance (preferably by a standing order). On admission, we do request that fees are paid up to the end of the month of admission, and, if admission is after the 15th of a month, we request that the fees for the next calendar month are paid at the same time.

Any additional charges (for example, hairdresser, beautician, etc) will be invoiced monthly in arrears.
